THE CLOWNS ARE BACK!
After a dazzling international tour of The Clowns Convention—in which the relevance of the clown in our time was put firmly under the microscope—Leonardo, Il Maestro, The Admiral, Dick Nose and Clarabella return with an all-new show.
All over the world, autocratic populists are sprouting up like mushrooms. An autocrat prefers to make every decision alone. But why are they so popular? And why are they so often compared to clowns?
Armed with noses and cameras, the Autocrat Clowns set out across Europe in search of answers. How has the rule of law in Poland been eroded under the PiS government? Does Hungarian leader Viktor Orbán have a sense of self-irony? How can the Georgian opposition be supported in its struggle against Kremlin trolls? Is Hitler’s influence on primary schools on the rise again? How do you share responsibility—and why would you even want to?
In a lively live talk show, Wunderbaum explores such questions with a colourful array of guests, combined with brand-new clown acts. The performance is created in collaboration with various European partners and remains a continuous “work in progress.”
