Whether it’s with friends in the schoolyard, with your grandma in the kitchen, quietly under your desk, shamelessly in front of the mirror, or simply on the inside. Everyone dances sometimes.

But who decides how you dance? Who chooses our rhythm? Why is one person allowed to move one way and another person not? Is there such a thing as the right way to dance? And what is dance, anyway?

In EN NOU GAAN WE EVEN HELEMAAL UIT ONZE PLAAT (een topshow), we find ourselves in an unfamiliar dance studio, where a grumpy DJ takes you on a journey through every possible style and move.

There’s voguing, slow dancing, breakdancing, hakken, hip-hop, shuffling, popping, TikTok dances and stomping.

But apparently, there’s always something wrong. A wannabe dance competition that nobody understands. Because who actually came up with these impossible rules in this room? And why?

In all kinds of dazzling and absurd attempts, five performers try to dance themselves free from everything that has been decided for them.
